EVO ICL

The EVO ICL™ (Implantable Collamer® Lens) (nicknamed as “implantable contact lens” or “insertable contact lens”) procedure corrects common vision problems, such as nearsightedness (myopia) with or without astigmatism.

These “implantable contact lenses” were designed for people who want to experience life without using glasses or contacts.

And Dr. Adrian Jachens of Beacon Eye Center has extensive experience with EVO ICL , which is the newest technology by STAAR® Surgical.

EVO ICL is the newest ICL technology when it comes to offering our patients an alternative to prescription eyeglasses or contacts. Some patients who have severe myopia also benefit greatly from EVO ICL.

EVO ICL Procedure – What to Expect

EVO ICL is made of biocompatible Collamer material that works in harmony with your eye.

Unlike contact lenses that go on the surface of the eye, the EVO ICL is positioned inside the eye between the iris (the colored part of the eye) and the natural lens where it stays for permanent vision correction.

For peace of mind, the EVO ICL can also be removed by our doctor, if needed or desired.

  • During the minimally invasive procedure, our eye doctor will create a small opening in the cornea that will be used to insert and position the EVO ICL.
  • The procedure is typically painless since we use numbing eye drops.
  • The entire procedure typically takes less than 20 – 30 minutes.

You can experience improved vision right away and a quick recovery time.
